The A1-stars private hospitaldrama

My mom got cancer

The popidols in A1 are singing ''Don't wanna lose you again''. For Ben Adams has got one person he absolutely don't want to lose.
In this years Krafttak mot krefts Vinterlyd. The silvermedalist from this years norwegian Grand Prix-final, is deeply envolving against cancer.

Ben Adams (28) has a personal reason for it.

Cancer in the family

-My mom Anita (51) got cancer, and my grandfather died from it, so it lies in the family, hes telling to "Her og Nå".

The bands british frontfigure has really felt how terrible this disease is.

-My mom has to keep a track on the cancer from year to year. Sometimes it has returned. But right now she is in good health. Its scary, he admits.

Bens mom got sick when he was little. To spare him, she waited many years to tell him about the disease.

Moms boy

-I am very close to my mom. If something happened to her, I would be totally battered, Ben says. Even though he is living a starlife with Christian Ingebrigtsen (33) and Mark Read (31),he does not neglect his mom.
-Now I can look more after her and take her to the hospital to the controlls.

-I talk to her every single day. I am a real moms boy. It was only my mom and I when I grew up. It was no fathers figure, so we got really attached to eachother. And we have been that since, Ben is telling, who wants people to pay attention to their health.

People have to check

-Luckly moms disease got caught in a early stage. And people have been more aware to cancer, and the more who checks them self, even better, Ben says.

Ben thinks its important to live a healthy life, and the does not try to live up to the ''sex, drugs and rock'n'roll''-myth.

Quit the smoking

-I smoked my last cigaret in november, after smoking 20-30 cigarets a day since I was 13, Ben says. Its the smartest thing I have ever done!

-I had been smoking for so long, that I did not know who I sounded without it. I have allready notice that my singing voice is more clear, the A1-vocalist says.

-With the celebrity status, it comes a resposability, and it is fantastic to use our sucsess to help others, Ben says, and hoping that many people are going to support financially with the Cancerproject this year.
